Talking About My Generation

Never before have so many generations of nurses worked together in the workplace, each with its own unique strengths and challenges.  Today’s workforce is comprised of staff who have been at the bedside or in the unit for 6 months to 50 years.  This creates challenges due to different communication styles, work practices, and expectations from employers, but it also creates significant opportunities, as different generations bring different experiences and skills. This interactive webinar will provide tips for leveraging strengths and communicating effectively with all generations.

Lori Gunther, MS, CPXP is the Senior Director of NICU Innovation and Professional Education at the March of Dimes. Lori directs the strategic planning process, quality assurance, content and expansion of all NICU programs and has been a professional trainer for 20 years.  She is also a certified patient experience professional.

 

 

Heather Lyman, BSN, RN, CCRN is a registered nurse at John’s Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in Saint Petersburg, Florida. She has been working as a NICU nurse for the past 6 years in a variety of settings, including a surgical unit, a large academic teaching hospital and a small community hospital. She is currently working on her Master’s Degree in Health Informatics.
