Advisory Board Chair Reflections: 2024 Perinatal Leadership Forum
By: David M. Haggard II, DNP, APRN, NNP-BC, NEA-BC, C-NPT, ANLC-N, Synova Executive Advisory Board Chair
WOW! Just WOW! Is all I can think of to say to sum up my time at the 2024 Perinatal Leadership Forum. From the moment I arrived until the day I headed back home to Texas I was filled with excitement and a renewed confidence in our journey forward as leaders. I know we are living in times that can seem so very divided. However, at this Perinatal Leadership Forum, I saw nothing but unity and strength in our numbers.
I was honored to host the executive lunch breakout session again this year, and I can honestly say that I am proud of what our highest level leaders are doing to ensure the safety, of not only their staff, but of the patients they serve. With Women’s Health being of heightened awareness across our country today more than ever, it is imperative that we unite to ensure women everywhere of all socioeconomic backgrounds and races can access and receive the care they desperately need. I left that lunch group meeting knowing that we are in great hands and that this workgroup will effect change!
The week was also filled with so many amazing presentations from start to finish, too many to name, that I felt as though I had attended a master class in leadership. I gained new friends and fellowshipped with those I have known for a while. We had an amazing boat excursion, where we got to experience Florida nature up close, as the Dolphins swam alongside our boat.
We had yet another AMAZING party, where we came together to dance the night away and celebrate life. I am always overwhelmed by the feeling of love that comes from this group. The welcoming spirit of those who were new to us and the dedication of those who continue to support one another through this amazing conference were again highlights of the conference for me.
I am honored and proud to serve as your Synova Associates, Advisory Board Chair and will continue to celebrate and elevate each of you in all I do. I would also like to give a Texas sized THANK YOU, to our amazing Synova Team, for yet another incredible event! I would also like to thank my fellow board members who showed up and showed out at this PLF. Until next year in Tucson, AZ, please have a blessed holiday season! One last thing. Remember you are the Captain of your own Ship, and when you choose to come together with those you love and support you/we can accomplish great things!!
Sincerely,
David
