Peer-to-Peer Mentoring to Develop Leadership Talent: August 2, 2018
Regardless of your nursing experience – a young nurse who just graduated from college, new to nursing after years in a different career, an experienced nurse transferring to a new specialty or role, or a seasoned leader – you can benefit from being mentored and from mentoring others.
This live webinar was on August 2nd… but don’t worry… you can still watch the recording!!
Nurses and nurse leaders must focus on satisfaction, retention, and succession planning in order to meet the healthcare challenges of today and the future. Mentoring is a proven, cost-effective strategy for development and is much more than just a ‘feel good’ approach.
This presentation will explore the topic of mentorship, how to establish a peer to peer mentoring program, and the positive impact mentoring can have on your career, your team, and your patient outcomes. “We rise by lifting others.” – Robert Ingersoll
- Stephanie Abbu, DNP, RN, CNML is the Clinical Business Coordinator for Neonatal Services at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. She has been a neonatal nurse for over 12 years and in that time has been a staff nurse and in various nursing leadership positions. Her passion is for mentoring the next generation of nurses to care for mothers and babies. This mother of 3 college students decided she wasn’t paying enough college tuition, so she returned to nursing school to obtain her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree. Now that she is free from writing papers, she spends time baking cakes and sneaking all of the cherry tomatoes from her husband’s garden.
